This Avatar is the male of the creature. He mainly lives in the ocean (as you can tell by the gills and beak), but can still breathe on land. His eyes are different colours (to each other and to the females) for several reasons. One of them is from the sting of the salt water in his eyes and the other reason is that the green eye is green because it naturally has a special green-coloured cover to help him see during the rare occurence of the creature being on land, as his eyes aren't used to it. The red eye is red because it helps him to pick up movement under water, which is both necessary and useful as the male finds the food in the water and brings it to the shore for the female and, if required, children. Like the female, this creature is calm, and appropriately colour-schemed to match this personality.
